Tax Day is Here!

Yes, everyone, it is finally tax day.

Please, make sure all of your documentation has been properly filed. Today is the last day to file your taxes without a penalty.

Some forms you may be interested in filling out include a 1040, a 1040-A, a W2, a 1099, and many others. Please discuss with a tax professional if you have any specific questions about what forms you should be filing.

You may be asked to log a variety of different expenses, constituting your various dependents but also other criterions such as your annual fishing boat proceeds. You must also carefully lay out your gross income to make sure you paid the right amount of taxes for your income level.

Tax Day is traditionally April 15th, but as that was a Saturday, and DC Emancipation Day was moved to Monday, the 17th, Tuesday the 18th was the next available date. This is a later tax day than usual.

Taxes are an important part of our governmental system in which everyone gives the government a portion of their income so the country can function.
