WASHINGTON – Visitors to the National Gallery this Thursday may have been perturbed by the presence of Nelson Aldrich, a junior and art history minor at GW.
Aldrich, having spent the previous semester in Paris and noting flaws in every single work in the Louvre’s collection, has decided to move on from the critique of artistic works to the critique of the people in art galleries.
“Personally, I find that one can say only so much about art, but with people there’s practically an endless well of things to critique,” said Aldrich.
Then, the student began to roam the length of the National Gallery and, in a BBC-caliber British accent (though he has lived in Connecticut his whole life), find individuals to critique.
“This one man next to the Turner has the most pitiful posture,” he explained. Absolute slouch. There’s so sense of stability, especially in his flabby arms.”
