University to Shut Down All Sidewalks in City for Remainder of Semester Due to Superdorm Construction

WASHINGTON - Administration at George Washington University surprisingly announced that they had brokered an agreement with city officials to close all remaining sidewalks for the next three months on account of the ongoing construction of District House.

“This won’t be inconvenient at all,” explained President Knapp. “Students won’t mind this whatsoever.”

Students and general passersby are expected to walk along the side of the construction, narrowly avoiding death on the street.

“At first, we were considering, well, if we have to do it, let’s just close it over the summer or something, so we don’t inconvenience the entire student body for a whole half of a year,” Knapp continued. “Fortunately, we realized that if we hold on to do this now there is the chance that students will take longer to have to go from place to place whilst it is literally deathly cold outside.”

“If it slows traffic, all the better!” He said, blissfully humming in ignorance whilst watching a butterfly fly outside his office window.

A single exception has been made to allow continued ease of access to the beloved Textile Museum throughout the university’s time of struggle.
