MIAMI - All of us saw the devastation in Florida this week, but we’ve learned through an exclusive close-up interview with Hurricane Matthew that he was dropping by the states to search for his long lost love: the long-forgotten Hurricane Katrina.
Yes, in between his tears and heavy-hearted sobs (which obviously manifests as large floods and winds, but hey, they’re still feelings, don’t judge), Matthew told us that Katrina left home one day for a day at the warm Louisiana beaches and never made it home for dinner that night. Matthew looked long and hard, but nothing he could do would bring his Katrina back.
The massive category four hurricane took a moment to calm himself. “I just wanted her to come back. I was nothing without her! Just a tiny little cloud. She made me the storm I was born to be.”
He had been quietly searching the Louisiana coastline, specifically New Orleans, where she had been before she disappeared, for years following 2005. He tried to keep a low profile, and was almost discovered a couple of times, but managed to learn that she had gone off to Florida after her week at the beach.
After learning this fact, Matthew immediately rushed over there with all his might after stopping off at his home in the Atlantic Ocean to grab some supplies.
“I let my emotions get the better of me, I admit, but I was desperate.” By this, we presume he means “flood Florida and destroy a massive amount of property.” He rushed into the Florida coastline, searching frantically and yelling Katrina’s name at the top of his lungs. That was the thunder you guys heard, we guess.
Eventually after a couple of days, Matthew broke down into tears after realizing that his beloved was nowhere to be found. The storm, which in his sadness had dwindled into a category one, trudged on home defeated and broken. He was never going to see Katrina again, and honestly even though he flooded whole cities in the sunshine state, we can’t help but feel sympathy for the guy.
Matthew isn’t giving up hope though. He plans to keep up the search in Florida, so watch out for him there, and despite being pessimistic about the results, he refuses to give up.
Don’t tell the guy, but our thinking is she’s probably up in the Big Apple getting cozy with Sandy and Irene. Those girls can get wild.
